Kathryn Church, PhD

Director & Senior Research Consultant

Kathryn has over 25 years experience in monitoring, evaluation, research and strategic consultancy in sexual & reproductive health programming. She holds a PhD in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), and previously worked at both the World Health Organization/Dept of Reproductive Health and MSI Reproductive Choices where she was global Director of Evidence. She is also an Honorary Assistant Professor of Sexual & Reproductive Health at LSHTM. 

Dina Abbas, MPH

Senior Research Consultant

Dina is a global health and SRHR research specialist with 20+ years’ experience across LMIC and humanitarian settings. She has led multi‑country maternal and reproductive health research, directed operational learning at MSI Reproductive Choices, and collaborated with international professional bodies on evidence to inform guidelines, task‑sharing, and quality of care.

Olivia Nuccio, MSc

Senior Research Consultant

Olivia is an experienced researcher specialising in SRH. She holds a BA in Economics and an MSc in Public Health, bringing a strong analytical foundation to her work. With extensive experience designing and leading qualitative and mixed-methods studies, she supports global health organisations to translate evidence into useable insights. She has led large-scale research studies, M&E data analytics, capacity-building activities and developed global guidelines. She enjoys working closely with stakeholders to ensure findings are both practical and impactful.

Matthea Roemer, MSc

Senior Research Consultant

Matthea is a researcher and strategist focused on advancing sexual and reproductive health, rights, and justice (SRHRJ) through evidence generation, translation, and application. She is currently undertaking a PhD focused on abortion care in the UK. She previously served as Head of Research & Innovation at MSI Reproductive Choices (MSI), supporting evidence-based programming and policy change across diverse health systems.

Heather Lorenzen, MSN

Clinical Advisor

Heather Lorenzen is a humanitarian and global health specialist with 20+ years’ experience in SRH, public health, and emergency response. As a practicing nurse, she has worked closely with midwives and frontline providers in crisis-affected settings, strengthening SRH services, emergency preparedness, and quality of care in line with global standards. Her experience includes strengthening national preparedness and response systems in fragile and climate-affected settings. 

Rachel Cullen, MSc

Senior Technical Advisor

Rachel is a researcher, technical advisor and programme leader, with more than 20 years experience working in the UK and internationally. This includes establishing and leading large multi-country SRH and maternal health programmes and facilitating the conceptual development and co-creation of SRH initiatives, working at the nexus of SRH, climate change and social justice.  Her previous roles include Director of Global Health at Options, and Strategic Director of the Women’s Integrated Sexual Health (WISH) programme.  Her consultancy work spans SRH and global health alongside facilitation, strategy development and governance support.

Sarah Palmer MSc

Social Inclusion Specialist

Sarah is a social inclusion specialist with a master’s degree in Gender Analysis in International Development. With 18 years of experience in programme management, research and technical assistance, she has specialised in disability-inclusive practices in education and health in both development and humanitarian sectors over the past decade.  She has focused her disability and gender expertise on SRHR programming and has worked with IPPF, MSI Reproductive Choices and Ipas to shape their inclusive practice.
